Working on my relatively-new-to-me late model 4050. Long story short: hardly any gauges work, and none of the knobs overhead (AC, heat, wipers, etc.) work. However, the flashers built into the cab do work (except the ones I need to replace the bulbs in haha). This tractor does *not* have the Investigator II dash, or whatever it's called. The gauges look like the 4230 my family had when I was growing up, if that helps.
I have the Owner's and IT Manuals for this tractor, but I don't seem to see where there are any fuses. Am I missing something? My father seems to think there is some kind of control board under the dash that is causing the trouble. Could this board be the culprit?
I would appreciate any advice as to where to start...an old JD mechanic that goes to my church recommended buying an entirely new wire harness and starting over...
