I have a question about a late model A. I am currently in the process of installing my new motor. It will have 10/1 compression. Do you think the stock starter would be able to turn that over with 1/8" petcocks? Or would two batteries be better or would it not work it at all? Thanks for the comments

I use a stock starter (rebuilt) with 2 batteries and 0/0 cable on an "A". It's over 10:1 compression, and mid-600's cu in. It cranks and starts good. On a late A with a belly-mount starter I don't think you have a lot of options (if any) for a gear-reduction starter. Mike
