lead infused squirrels

jniolon

old and in the way
Found something off yesterday...cleaning up the yard and looked at my winch battery connections on my ut. trailer.

forum content (I used my tools to remove them)

We all know what they should look like but found mine like this

Seems like little tooth marks on each one ...Squirrels ?? We have a lot of them around but I have 80 oak trees on my place and a gazillion acorns...bet they would taste better than my terminals

Were they sharpening their teeth or filling their cavities?

Never saw anything like that before!

Rats? Squirrels? Chipmunks?

Will probably die from self-inflicted lead poisoning. I wonder what attracted them to the clamps? What had
you put on them to prevent corrosion, peanut oil?

Never seen that before and hope to never see it ! That is not what I was expecting from the title.
LOL.

Yep, they literally ate the terminals off
a battery I had on an electric fence.
Getting to be common now for some reason.

Lead poisoning affects the brain. Can you imagine a squirrel brain after eating that much lead. They built a nest on the engine and chewed the top off a neighbor's battery last winter. She doesn't drive much
and was surprised when her car wouldn't start. $$$$

It is quit common for squirrels to chew on almost anything. I have them chew though copper telephone cables, aluminum cableTV cables, fiber optic cables, secondary power cables and the most
impressively when the chewed through high voltage primary distribution cables. Poof. No more squirrel.

you guys are so funny! only teeth marks i see is from a grinder. funny to see guys playing right into it. lol.

I guess if you've ever had the misfortune to taste the corrosion from a battery, it does have a slight sweet taste.

The title made me think you infused them with 22 caliber lead then put them in the stew
pot. Not sure I'd want to eat that one.

That does look like teeth marks on the lead clamps, and while that is a first for me, I am more curious about the clamps being installed on the battery upside down?

Exactly. That was the first thing I saw. And if it was
holding it like a nut it would have chew marks all over not
just bottom. Someone is testing the viewers here. He
must be just laughing

I should have been a little more clear... the terminals were just lying in the battery box on the trailer... no battery was installed (it was in the other trailer...so the terminals were lying upside down , not installed upside down.

Those aren't grinder marks they are teeth marks and there is nary a scratch on the bolts...nice even rust.. It's no prank or leg pull...I can mail someone the terminals of you want... I've never seen them go after leg before
