lead infused squirrels


Few years ago I had some used wheel weights sitting on the railing of the porch deck. I'd pried them off some rims earlier and just piled them there out of the way.... One morning I look out the window and there is a squirrel nibbling on them! I opened the door and the squirrel ran off but later I saw him having a go at those weights again.

I put them in the garage at that point.

These were not likely the old lead ones that maybe taste sweet. More likely the newer zinc ones.
 
All rodents have a pair of upper and a
pair of lower teeth called incisors.
Unlike our teeth, these incisors don't
have roots, and they never stop growing!
To keep these teeth from growing into
their brains, rodents grind their teeth
against each other. And chew on everything.
