Learn From His Mistake

A local boy took his ATV to ride around the farm. he took it out of a machine shed leaving the sliding door open about six feet. He returned through the door riding really fast not knowing that there was a cow inside. The cow tried to get out when he was coming in and jumped almost over the boy and ATV. cow unhurt, ATV slightly damaged, Boy a few broken bones and lots of bruises. Would be funny if boy would have been unhurt

First,,,,,, I hate it that there is a kid hurting. I would not wish broken bones on any kid. But,,,,,,,, I would have sure loved to have seen that! Not from the seat of course, from a ways back.

Hope the kid has a good recovery.

Noted, Man!!! SNOW DAY!!! YEEEEE-HAW!!!!

I used to drive my holland in to the garage full speed, diddnt need brakes, those things slow and stop the second you let off the petal. No im not stupid enought to do that with the kuboda. Was out blow snowin' earlier.

Most of us have survived our days of youth, only to have those old injuries come back on us later in our lives. This has been on my mind a lot lately. Had an MRI of my back last summer and now I'm going to have an MRI of the neck. Surgery will follow, and it's all because of an active lifestyle through the years. Let's see - maybe it was the fractured skull, broken elbow and wrist when I was in fifth grade, or the broken ankle, or the thumb that was bent back, back in the sixties and now is full of arthritis or maybe it was...... If all of us would sit down and make a list of the injuries we had in our youth we would surprise ourselves and maybe have a chuckle too. Now where did I put that bottle of ibuprophen? Jim

I'm not very old yet and already paying for my stupidity during my youth. Stuff happens and we all learn and grow from our mistakes, but it should would be nice to not have aching bones and joints when the weather changes... be nice to still have all my body parts as well, but the lesson learned will stick forever.

Prayers for the boy and his family, hope he has a speedy recovery and no lasting effects (other than the lesson learned).

You too? I'm practically typing with one finger this cold is getting to my joints and bones so bad. Got one thumb that only works one direction because of a dumb stunt that cost me the tendons to go the other way. Ibuprophen still works for you? You're lucky!

They should be called a ATV because they are not suited for all terrains. We have an ATV park close to where I live. There has been 3 people killed in that park since it's opened. One man bought a new Kodiak and was killed the same day he had bought it. People take too many chances on those things. I have had one since the early 90's and have never turned it over yet.I never take chances. I see on the news that we have a person killed about every week in Ky, not counting all the injuries.

LOL Ah come on now Traditional farmer.

It sounds like you could be talking about me now.

Think you could tone it down a bit.

but im getting kinda old to be a maniac.
them 4 wheelers are hard on me.

Thats why they call four wheelers "all-terrain vehicles"; you can just drive over a cow if you wanted.

last summer i was coming in the shed with the loader tractor at dark, neighbors horses got out, 2 of em were in my barn. dang near got a loader full of horse meat.

One thing about ATVs they will sure thin the slow ones from the herd pretty quick. Gotta do so something to keep down over crowd"n. :)

i don"t have 4-wheelers ... persay. i have a John Deere gator and a polaris ranger. never been a big fan of the 4-whillers! rangers and gators suit me better anyway.
