If Im not part of the solution ----I must be part of the problem. I dont know how some of the people on this site feel but I what to say to those of you who have been made the target for others amusement, I am sorry you were treated in this manner. Your ?s and posts should weigh no less then of others who ask for help or opinion. These forums are great and a lot of fun and can contain a lot of jockularity but not in the form of social media bullying of a few on this site. You have much stronger constitution then I. In the past I have been reported to the moderator who removed my post when all I did was defend my position.It is called selective enforcement I hope they send this to the moderator. That is what happens to those who are not part of a core group. If the moderator looks close at the people who do the prodding often direct business outside our sponsors site for product needs. Education is not a reflection of how smart one is when it comes to the treatment people, and can in noway hide their stupidity in their lack of respect for others. If they throw me off the site for this post then so be it, I will just have to get my parts and information else where . Respectfully WW2N

It is my observation that while some folks have better understanding of some subjects than others, I often see poor or low tolerance of those who see things differently. For the ones you perhaps describe as the CORE GROUP to be utterly short and rude to others is perhaps a reflection of their personal character.

If one responds to a POST, it ought to be in an answer to the question(s) ASKED, not to tear up somebody's answer. Time after time, it turns into a dog fight and serves NOT the original poster.

There are other places to get info... don't assume the responsibility beyond your sphere of control....

If the CORE GROUP wants to believe their own press, that is their choice. Not your issue.

Your life will be what YOU make, forum or no forum. Enjoy your tractor.... red, blue or orange or green.

Or lack there of. It could simply be left un-said.
Even if the question/post was made or sounds completely antagonistic.

On the flip side of that coin, there is a reason for differing opinions.
There needs to be discussion and proof of facts to arrive at the correct answer.
If what I always believed was right isn't, then I have an opportunity to learn.

It's kind of unreasonable, and too easy to assume that in a forum of many far flung, strong willed and mechanically capable characters, where the common denominator is tractors, that everyone will be a friend or a kindred spirit by default.

Harboring that expectation is probably how one sets oneself up for a letdown.

Now how would I know that?

But that said, if you roll with what you consider punches, you'll find kindness even in a curmudgeon, if you can forgive.

Patience is a virtue we all need more of.

everyone on the forum is a play actor for the most part. They blow and bluff and try to suggest they are something that they really are not. A lot of the people are here only to find the slightest fault or crack in someone posting to allow them a point of contention to argue. Just like a germ looking for a crack in the skin. I venture to say a lot of this would go away real quick if the potential was there for them to get a poke in the nose because of the way they act.

I must admit I have pretty much stopped offering advice or opinions, even on little things I feel might be useful, because I've received too many snotty replies when none was due. I remember one instance in which I offered an opinion (later supported by others) and a rather cranky respondent who thought he knew better labeled me, "Another half mechanic," or something to that effect. That's just plain rude. There's really no need to be so snotty when one's opinion disagrees with another's, or, perhaps even sadder, when an expert offers truly useful advice but goes on to ruin it by then suggesting, oh, BTW, the person asking the question is an idiot. WW2N, you have no need to apologize. I appreciate your raising this topic. You're OK.

That's a shame as there is more than one way to skin a cat ( sorry P.E.T.A. it's an expression )

Some ways are cheaper , some are better , some are quicker . The person needing the help has to figure out which way works for them . If the info is wrong we have a duty to call it out .

We had a good issue on fixing a cracked block where there were different opinions with strong beliefs being voiced but all remained civil .

I don't know about your case , sometimes the one getting called out merely offered a less than perfect option or they may have been stuck on their bad advice as being the only proper way .

At the end of the day if you choose not to participate then it has reinforced the behavior that caused the situation . It is a good thing we have all star pitchers but you won't win the game if you had nine pitchers playing and no catcher , 1-2-3 baseman , etc .

Rossow, Dont ever stop offering advice whether you think its right or you think its half wrong or someone chooses to belittle you. Its how you learn. Its how they will learn.

This land is made up of freedom of speech, with that also comes freedom to disagree and a freedom to discuss and debate. Its how some go about the latter that makes or breaks the situation.

I never back down from a debate that I can learn from. I only back down from an idiotic comment because it is a waste of my precious time.

About 25 years ago one of the best directors that I ever worked for told me to "ask the same question of the same person 3 different ways. If the answer is always the same than the person knows what they are saying. If the answers are different, move on."

No one pays to be on this site nor is anyone paid to offer advice. Everyone has the same right here. Some of us know more and some of us know less but at the end we are all the same and chasing after the same interests.

treated as you were have never been where you
came from on that post. No matter who makes up
a reason for their treatment of you has never
been treated that way on this forum and they
never will be. I will watch for your posts dont
let them run you off. You can ask anything you
want and there are good people here to give you
a answer without wise donkey remarks. By the
way I have seen both amp and volt gauges on
tractors so there is a difference.

You know maybe it was just one of those days , Jessie has helped me out in the past and a lot of others too . Sometimes a man gets stressed and things get a little over board . I have seen a few guys here mellow out as time went on . I don't see either one of us going any where , this is just the internet and we are both thick skinned . At least he didn't call me names , like "dufus" , by the way has anyone see 36 coupe lately ?

being a newbie to this forum I have never commented on anything because I am an IDIOT but then that's why I joined the forum .....to learn! Half my life spent I. Law enforcement didn't allow much time for tractors etc but now I've been bitten and I want to absorb as much knowledge as possible from you as well as many others on here.I think I'm at least smart enough to figure out which info best helps me....please don't refrain from posting as I am positive no one on here was born a tractor genius!
