Lever interference draft control, remote left spool '86 3910

We have recently purchased an '86 3910. The subject levers interfere and especially just at the position where I think that the draft often must be set. To the point that I am unsure of the proper functioning of draft control.

Is there a tried and true modification of the remote hydraulics left spool lever, bending it or shortening it?

We had that on one of our 4000s not the other? We cut the top of the pos-draft lever just to clear the remote lever.

Thanks. I'm about convinced that cutting will be gentler and less invasive than bending.
