Lincoln Jackpots ?

I won the 5850 2T, there was only one other tractor in it, I got a whopping $15 back, my son won the 5850 div. 2 with three tractors and got $24 back. I don't think we will enter those classes again. The only prize outside of the money added classes at Lincoln is getting your name in the Hook mag. Our local pulls pay back better.I know the building rent is expensive. I also thought it was nice of Sapp Bros. to give tickets for $.12 off of fuel only to find out they were at $3.93 for dsl. and Phillips 66 was $3.79!

You know as well as I do going to those pulls costs money and money is not made tractor pulling. Just ask my wife I hear that all the time. I know pay for winning isn"t good at the bigger pulls but there are a lot of tractors at those pulls and good people who are very competitive. Be lucky you can go to the pulls and have a good time. I plan on making it to some of them this year.

Jack pot ought to mean just that. Winner takes all. Twenty four dollars out of $90 in entry fees in a class isn't what I would call a jack pot. Not sure if we want to cash it or frame it.

Few years ago I got 2nd in 8500 and 9500 Div 2, got 2 checks, one for $3 and the other for $2. I did cash them but made copies to show off my "winnings". Oh well, I always have a ball in Lincoln, just wish I could go every year.

Not all of the NATPA jackpots are "winner take all" hardly any of them are. The majority of the jackpot classes are payed out just like a normal class based on the percentage that the organization has used for years = the more the tractors- the more the money. There are a few jackpots that offer a set winning amount. Example.... Corrunna and the Isenhart memorial, Tallmadge the few they choose and the few the people at Lincoln decided on. Your 2/2t jackpot was a regular jackpot so just regular payout, there was hardly any one in there. Hope this makes sense to you...

The Cornhusker Classic adds money to two 5mph Jackpots spearheaded by Terry Vulcan at the weights of 4750 and 5250. This year, they also awarded personalized trophies. This was possible because of the sponsorship provided by Home Town Glass out of Douglas, NE. I got lucky in the 5250 (a class of about 30 tractors) after taking a line suggested by Ken Folland and Jeff Gravert (runner-up in the class). A sincere thank you to the Nelsons, Tad Warm, Jeff Brabec, Terry and Jeff for putting on a great pull. - J.P. Dunn

Had I known there would only be two or three in a class I would had my son pull in the 6000 div. 2 and I would have scratched the 5850 2T. I guess we know for next year. Beyond that I always have a good time in Lincoln.
