Live hydraulic problem on B

I installed a "live hydraulic" pump on my B. I tested the system and found the system worked the rock shaft. Then, I tried to hook up the system to a remote two valve control to run a front end loader by taping into the two ports on the right side of the power trol. These two ports have had pipe plugs in them, and have not been used. Needless to say, nothing works now. How should I hook this system up to get hydraulic pressue to the spool valves?

Jack, I'm afraid I don't have a solution for your problem, but I'm interested in the pump. Is this a genuine JD pump? Does it mount between the governor housing and the distributor? I'm told JD made an add on pump like that for hydraulics. I'm having trouble getting one to work on a Behlen power steering on an A. It seems to pump too much or doesn't have a relief. It will shear the key.

I have part of an answer for you. I will send you an e-mail latter on. On the first part if you are also going to use the rockshaft tie in a selector valve so you can slect either the rockshaft or the loader. J.

If you have a model "B" parts catalog PC 330, take a look at the page numbered 116 with regard to the operating of the lines from the pipe ports.

I have a 70D, which has its own internal live pump, but still it is plumbed in the same manner as the governor-mounted pump, and I use the AA 5724 R selector valve, along with the Pioneer fittings running from the pipe ports. With this arrangement, I can operate the rockshaft for the three point hitch, or hook the Pioneer couplers to the open-center, two lever valve that operates my 45W/hydro bucket loader. You would install the selector valve along one of the open-faced, no pipe threads in the cap type plugs.

If you are running a seperate spool valve to control the loader then you will need to tie the handle on the power-trol so oil will flow continuesly. Those side ports only have pressure available on one of them also. So you have to make sure you are hooking it up the right direction.

Mike- Thanks for the heads up, I swapped hoses on the power trol last night, and got oil to flow to the spool valves by holding the power trol handle forward. I also adjusted the needle valve, by have been unable to stop the rock shaft from moving when I use the loader. Any ideas?? Thanks, Jack

If the hoses are hooked into the RH side of the valve box then the rockshaft will want to raise first.
That selector valve shown in the pictures should stop this. Or if you have or get the plugs that go into the rear for a cylinder than those will work better then you should be able to hook it up so you can tie the handle to the back which may be more out of the way.
