mf40-me

Sorry that it took me so long to get back on here. Mine is odd. The loader looks just like the mf 34 loader, at least from pictures. The loader thati have could be older, as it is very very worn, but then again so is the tractor. I have the supposedly original owners manual which is for an MF40, and except for the tranny every picture and diagram is identical to what the tractor actually is. I would love to see the picture that you have, perhaps you could email me?

Would you have a guess what engine rpm would give a 540 pto? My tach doesn't have a mark, perhaps it is written below but 35 years of being outside has taken it's toll on the lower section of my tach, and all is eligible.

Thanks to you Dave, the tractor is currently in the garage, but when it is back together i will send you a picture of it, should you care.

An MF34 loader would be correct for an MF40. Maybe a really early one might have had a 200 loader put on it? 540 pto would be around 1700 rpm. I have the world wide guide to MF industrial and construction equipment. It has pictures of most models except an MF40. I have seen MF 40's before. It shows a couple pictures of a UK MF40 with a really nice 4 bar mechanical self leveling loader. The UK model could be ordered with a manual transmission.
