Loader mounting

Hey all, I have a Ford 703 loader and was wondering if there is a way to mount it on a Farmall 806.
whatcha think? I live in Northern CA (not the bay about 4 hrs north about 2 hrs from Oregon, and there are just no loaders available around here.

I’ve modified loaders to fit tractors they were never intended for, but I believe you’d have you work cutout with trying to put a Ford 703 onto a IH 806. Doing a quick search, it appears to 703 was made to fit smaller Ford utility tractors. The 806 is a fairly large row crop tractor. Even if you got it mounted it wouldn’t look good and wouldn’t work very well.

I am with M16ty pure waste of time , that loader is just not what you want got to have something larger.

I was trying to find a 2350 but the closest one in good shape I can find is in Missouri so delivery would add another 2k to the price. I wish I could find one in California

I have a 19-97 that's currently off of a Ford 861. Even if it was made to fit an 806 there's no way it would be tough enough to handle that extra grunt.

If there's nothing local available get on big iron dot com etc and find something that will fit w/o too much of a hassle and have it shipped home.

The MidWest is 'loader poor' meaning loaders everywhere. Our operation has 9 tractors of various sizes(50-200 horsepower) that are actually being used for field work and 5 of those has a loader mounted plus we have a skidloader.
I agree what others have said: the Ford loader is not built to handle the stress an 806 would put on it.

I don't know about out west, but Westendorf is a popular brand here in the south, look for a TA26 or WL27. You may not be able to find one with the correct brackets for a 806, but they can be modified fairly easy. Personally I like the quick attach mounting better on the WL series vs the TA series loader.

The designated loader is a IH 2000 FEL. source: https://www.tractordata.com/farm-tractors/004/6/7/4672-farmall-806-attachments.html

How can I tell what loaders will work for this tractor? Sounds like there are a bunch of different ones.

But how do I find them? So far I haven't had a lot of luck.

You are talking about a 60 year old tractor in the 806, there is probably nothing made any longer to go on one. So you are looking for something used. It is going to be best to find something that has all the brackets you need. Finding a tractor that already has a loader is going to be more cost effective than getting a loader to add. Good luck.

Whether the size of the loader is right for the tractor or not, unless you have the correct mounts for a given used loader to fit the given tractor you want to put it on you are likely going to figure out what you need for mounts, design and fabricate the mounts yourself or have a fabrication shop do it for you. Loader mounts for tractors and loaders are not "universal" items. Most are proprietary to the loader manufacturer for the tractors the loader was designed to fit on. Purchasing new mounts to put a 50 plus (or even newer) year old loader on a similar vintage tractor likely has odds lower than winning the next billion-dollar lottery drawing.

I see a few for sale in ND on our local buy/sell site bismanonline. There's even 1 or 2 that have 806 mounts but the loader isn't in perfect shape.
