I think i read years ago that IH made a brake lock linkage that ran up to the light bar. The older i get the farther it seems to reach the brake lock. Does anyone have the part number or a linkage for sale? Thanks kent

On the H Farmall, I jusr welded a 1" x 2" piece of steel on top of the pedal latch. Just use the heel of my foot to kick it into place when I want to lock brakes. Works great, very minimal design. Anything would work, an old 2" bolt woudl work.

I have a much more attractive and simpler brake lock on my SMTA. Basically it is a steel rod with two small bends, one at either end. The rod runs across the deck by the shift lever and one bend is located under the brake lock. The other bend being over by the clutch pedal. When the brake is unlocked the bend by the clutch points up toward you at about 45 degrees. If you push in the brake pedal and use your left foot pushing the left bend flat to the deck, then the right bend pops up and locks the brakes. It is pretty fool proof and unobtrusive. You just push the brake pedals down a little further and the lock releases just from it's own weight.

Here's one I made for my Super M.

For young kids and old fat guys. When I was just starting to run tractors our two Ms had the brake locks like you had installed, also the levers under the left side of the seat so I could reach the pto.
