lost a good friend today

A good friend of mine, Darrell, crashed his small plane today about 11:45AM. All I know is that a wing came off, and the plane crashed and burned. He died on impact. He was an expert pilot, owned numerous planes over the years and had flown hundreds of hours. Plane had to have a structual defect or flaw not visable to the eye. The FAA is comming out tomorrow to investigate.

Please pray for the family and friends. Darrell was a born again believer and is now safe in his savior’s arms.

Thoughts and prayers are headed your way. I know it doesnt take away the hurt, but anyone who is a born again believer is never lost, we will be reunited again one day. Keep his friendship with you always and be thankful for the time you had to know him. Once again, my condolences.

Sorry to hear about your friends' demise. Prayers for his family, too.
Was his plane a home-built? Sometimes high strength bolts get replaced by non-standard bolts, and that gets folks in trouble.

No, it was not home-built. It was a Tri-Pacer made by Piper, late 1950s model.

He had taken off at his runway just a mile west of Johnson Nebraska, and crashed a quarter mile west of Johnson, just about a hundred yards east of highway 105.

Its never easy to lose a friend but as you mentioned Darrell being saved he's in the best place--in the presence of our Lord & Saviour. And the other good news as we become saved and pass on like Darrell, we'll be reunited in heaven.

I feel terrible about this and didn't even know him. He is in those Arms now to where he could bend those pearly gates of air and feel no fear.
