Lucke Snowblower problems

Anyone have any tips or tricks for getting a 7ft single stage Lucke snowblower to work on a JD 4020. I just purchase one and the snow from light drifts barely makes it out of the shoot and heavy snow drops right next to the blower at best. I can"t believe they still are selling these if they all work this poorly.

has it got a 540 shaft that is supposed to be 1000 instead. sounds like it doesnt spin fast enough. maybe someone who knows these machines will post.

speed and water content. light dry snow will blow better than wet heavy slush. the reason they are still selling a single stage in ND and SD IT GETS COLD!! And they just wait until the snow drys out. May be you are going to fast in a heaver snow. Beacuse most tractors have too fast of a revers for the blower to take. The best 2 tractors I had to blow snow with were IH HYDROS

Simple... if you want to simply paddle the snow out of the spout and drop it beside the blower, a one-stage is GREAT.

If you want to knock the snot out of the snow and re-locate it you need a 2-stage.

Did you read their website? Maybe you've got a sheared keyway/shear bolt or something that's causing the auger to not spin properly. They also say they tested a 2 stage blower but their single stage worked better other than not throwing light snow as far. It sure looks like they work in the pictures. Reist Industries also makes a single stage blower and says it takes 20% less power to run it. People that automatically assume a single stage won't work have probably never used one. Dave

Not true in my case.

I have a Hinicker, and while it's better than NOTHING a 2-stage will blow circles around it!
