M.H., Need Help

I have a massey harris. Dont know the year or model. It has a continential gas engine and the only numbers I can find stamped to the frame are: 7647 95 M1 L 17 D2. But I cant seem to find any of those serial numbers anywhere. Please help if you can.

Sounds like casting numbers, what engine do you have, 4 or 6, flathead or OHV, Transmission speeds, need more info.

Sorry about the numbers Rich thought I was finally onto somemthing. It is a continential 4 cylinder, ohv, gas. Has 1-5 forward and one reverse and a pto. Anything else let me know. Thanks.

That narrows it down to a 33, 44 or 44 Special. Look for numbers stamped to the left of the shifter.

if it was a 44 or 33 the year will be stamped in the casting rite where the frame meets the rearend at the bottom the 333 and 444 only have numbers they don't give an excact year you have to cross reference them to find the year if it has a high and low transmission it a 333 or 444 if your not sure excactly a 333 has a marvel schebvler carb and a 444 has a zenith

Look on top of transmission just back of PTO shift lever, along edge should find model and SN stamped if frame tag is missing as they can be.

You have a 1953 model 33 gas rowcrop. I have 2 that were my dad"s.
