Was looking at doing some head work on my m puller over the winter, so I was looking in the archives and there is a lot of posts on how bigger valves can hurt a stock or just over stock (300 cubic inch) motor. Also there isn't much in the way of port and polishing in the head due to the way the valves are designed. I always thought that bigger valves and port and polishing was the way to go. Any thoughts?

theres alot of great guys on here that know there stuff ! you may be able to shave you head for more compression or get a 450 gas head or an lp head.. a stock farmall M 8060 head is like 200 cc and a 450 gas head i think is around 160cc and a 450lp head is 140 cc so you could gain more compresion from smaller cumbustion chambers and step head pistons and ive found really good luck just getting everything in tune, distributer, carb, govenor to get more ponnies. best of luck
