I have a tuff desiscion to make. I have a chance to buy another minnie but I won"t be able to keep both M5"s. So my question is which one to keep? The wide front has a 3 point and 2300hrs while the narrow is bare back with 2000 hrs and is just a little nicer. Which one would bring more and in a collectors opinion which one to keep. I know the easy answer is keep both of them , but that"s not going to be a option. So feel free to give me some feedback..

micheal, not sure if you value my opinion or not but right now the only solid thing in the economy is ag, I have seen both of your tractors in person. If it were me I would keep them both. Right now money is cheap, even if you borrowed money from the bank odds are these tractors would appreciate in value at a greater rate than than interest would accrue at the bank. You can sell anything at any given time. If times get tough get rid of one if you HAVE to. Otherwise my opinion is to hold tight and keep adding to the collection!

Skidoojunky I do value your opinion on a limited basis and sometimes a guy has to trade up. Kevin to answer your question I plowed and had them on a sweet corn planter. i have a chance to buy a fwa minnie and that is something i have always wanted. I know skidoojunky and he has a good point, but i dont think he will be happy till i end up in the poorhouse. You cant afford them all...

Michael,
They're both relatively low hour tractors. If they are both gasoline and in the same mechanical shape I'd keep the wf w/ 3pt. Those two options increase the value of the tractor. A bare back nf tractor has limited usage and probably will not bring as much if you try to sell it. There were slightly more wf than nf made but not enough difference in my opinion to make a difference in collectability.

From a potential buyers perspective, I don't see either M5 as a big collectors item - I would value the wf with 3 point significantly above a nf w/o 3pt - both for usability and desirability. All assumes same engine and other things being equal. What are you thinking the current values would be?

Michael, I think you can't afford NOT to own them all! Let's be realistic about the value of either one of these tractors , in this day and age is that REALLY that much money? Both of these tractors have local history and call me sentimental but that means something. The fact that you know the people that own the dealership they came from new and the people who set them up and delivered them ought to be worth something, I am not a fair judge though because I have a hard time parting with my purchases.

Just my 2 cents

Put the wide front & 3-point & weights on the tractor you want to keep and sell the other one for a puller or ...

I own an M5 wf/ diesel 3pnt that I'm also thinking of selling because I really don't need it. I bought it to pull with but I hate to modify it becuase it's all original and operates perfect . In fact it's the nicest tractor I have to drive. I bought it last year and put maybe 2 hours on it . I don't have any luck posting pic. on this site or I would show you guys. I have no idea what the tractor is worth ? I would sell your NF and keep the WF.

I would keep the wide front and sell the bare back if it was up to me. You would be real limited to what you can do with out a three point. Besides not much call for a tractor with out it besides a pulling tractor.

If they are both mecanically equal, I would put the sheet metal and tricycle front from the no hitch tractor on the tractor with the three point hitch and keep it. To me a tricycle front is more versitile and much more manuverable for row crop use.
