M602 tractor

I have one that I still use and I enjoy it. The power steering can be a weak point as well as the amplitorque. If the torque slips in low but works in high, use high. On my 602, the low has been out for years. These things have lots of lugging ability from the 336 engine. Just a good solid old tractor.

The M670 is a newer and better tractor. I have heard of many M5 and M602 having problems with the steering valves. The M602's are nice tractors, but the newer MM's have more updates. If you need an M602 lp, I have one for sale.

you cqn change the steering over to hydrostatic only. we have many years ago. We got a trw hydramotor and bent new lines to the rack. presto just as good as a M670. Even look like factory.

yes the 670 Super was a better tractor but you should be able to say that about any brand as time progressed the newer should be more advanced. They are a good tough ole tractor and still can be used for a lot of things. We have a few around here, my dads original has 13,000 plus hrs on it. Spent the first 12 yrs of its life pulling a 6 bottom plow along side a JD 4020

I have been fixing minor problems on mine one at a time. The leaky hydraulics don't bother me much and power steering that only works to the right forces me to carefully plan. Overall, it is an excellent, reliable, powerful tractor good for small operations.
