On the 25th or this month there is the annual spring consignment auction done by one of the better auctioneers in our area. They are still taking consignemts but already have over 30 tractors listed. From old AC,s and Farmalls to a CaseIH STX 450! And me recovering from a total knee replacement! Guess I'm just going to have to miss it! :(

For anyone interested the listing can be found at bachman auctioneering dot com.

Good time for Auction PT with your walker. My wife had two total knee replacements. It was a great thing for her. Just make sure you do your PT and exercises. Take care. Paul

I used to get into sad situations like that until I found out I wasn't drinking enough. Now things like that don't bother me as
much.

Maybe you can bid online... it's easy to register for Proxbid.

Here, taste this shiny apple... you'll like it. LOL

Hope your knee heals great and makes a big improvement. old tanker. (My mom had bad knees... no fun at all - from what I observed).

(quoted from post at 18:32:37 04/17/15) THANKS - That helps readjust my attitude a little bit about where my tax dollats went!

This was yuor tax dollar at work. Just think 5 years of drugs treatment and devices for a service connected knee problem. 10 years ago they told me a matter of time. 6 years ago they did a scope on it and said at that time "at least a partial" to 2 weeks ago with nothing left to save. My tax dollar too. Yes I paid in every one of those years too! The telling difference is that I earned this care, I didn' stand there with my hand out saying I was entitled.

That is an idea but I'm old school and want to look it over before I bid.

Where there's a will there is a way. I had knee replacement last November
11th. A week later brought a tractor on line 500 miles away. I did wait a
couple weeks before I went to go get it.

Yep, us too - other than a few small tractor parts on ebay (and even then, still prefer a lot of photos of the item).

Some auctions you can drive around a golf cart or a lawn tractor. Just show them what is wrong. Walking NO NO! Jeffcat

Been wondering how the surgery went...last email wouldn"t go through. Auction only a week away might be tough to go to, but most auctioneers and crowds are pretty decent when they see crutches. "course then you need to get the stuff home....

That last line says it all! There are a couple of tractors listed I'd be interested in plus a round baler.

The surgery went well. At least the doc seemed pretty pleased with himself. I guess I'm a little disappointed, I really thought I'd bounce back faster.

The doc told me to find a vid on YouTube to see what they did. After watching it all I can say is it's pretty brutal!

Heading out to a large consignment auction in my area, down in Bremen, OH. 35 tractors, riding mowers, small tools and equipment and they claim the largest consignment of farm equipment they've ever had. It's their 26th annual spring sale. Should be fun.

There'll be another auction come up. I know it's hard to stay at home when something you love goes by.

My dad had both knees replaced, a good friend of mine at the age of 55 just had one replaced. The doctor opened up my friend's knee from
the back side. I guess this way if he has to kneel down he won't be kneeling on a scar.

My bone and joint doctor told me hopefully I can hold off until I'm 60 to have my left one replaced. I keep it wrapped now which helps it
feel better. I never thought it would happen at such an early age.

Just make sure you do your exercises. Those are very important with a knee replacement from what I've seen.

Rick, looks like a lot of stuff on there, of course the couple things that interest me aren't in the pictures....but that's usually how it goes for me! :D

LOL!

They have tons of stuff and with this auctioneer you better be ready to bid!

Generally a lot of young women there with boy friends because of ORV's and watercraft. On warm days it' a very pleasant site!

Knees are worse than hips...they bleed more. My first hip I was on crutches, walker, etc., for about 6 weeks. Had up to 19 daily exercises, did them for 6 months. Hip is perfect. Other one shot now, flared up a week ago, I could hardly walk with a cane. VA scheduled cortisone in May, I went to civilian dr yesterday, got happy pills, Monday I"m looking into replacement, either VA or civvy. Cortisone would delay surgery 2 months...I"m ready as soon as my fields are planted.

My surgeon told me knee replacement is the worst because they dismantled the knee then rebuild it. I was told up to a year for full recovery. Good luck with thr hip. Guy that retired from the army the same day I did was a dedicated runner. Did PT in the morning then ran 6-7 miles every night. About a month before we retired he went on sick call because of a hip. Got told his was wore out, he needed both and that he should stop running. He was devastated! No running.

I wound up with typical "tankers" knees. Between the daily PT runs and climbing and jumping off the tanks, plus a couple of knee injuries got me where I'm at today. It, cool, I earned every ache and pain. Just wish VA had been better about dealing with the problem.

I wanted to get to Everitts Tractors at Strawberry Point IA but the oats needed in the ground and going to rain

Sounds about right for knees. Wife had hers done, and it was about a year later before she could bend it enough to get on the motorcycle.
