MAKE MY PTO LIVE

I have a IH 240 Utility tractor with a PTO -- but it's not a LIVE PTO -- I have heard that a person can put a (( Clutch assembly attachment )) on the PTO Shaft to make it work like a LIVE PTO --- have you heard of such a think ?????
IF So -- tell me all that you know on this attachment -- THANK YOU

The clutch I think you are talking about is an OVERRUNNING clutch. IT DOES NOT make your tractor "Live Power" All it does is keep rotating energy stored in a piece of equipment like a brush cutter from driving the tractor if you need to STOP the tractor.

YES -- that would be what I'm talking about ---(OverRunning Cluth) do you know where I can get such an attachment --- these other guys that can't think -- seem to have a problem understanding -- but I see you understand Kent -- thank you for that !!! Joe

Farm stores may have them--remember it merely keeps your bush hog from pushing the tractor forward when you push in the clutch. Your clutch is transmission driven. Live or independent pto's are not transmission driven and continue turning when you push in the clutch (unless it is two stage), but do not push the tractor.

Runnings, AgriFleet, Mills Fleet & Farm, Tractor Supply Co, and most any other farm supply store here in Minnesota will have them. They will be in the power takeoff/ hitch/ hyd area of the store. Some are bolt on, some are pin on with a roll pin, and some use a thumb button like a regular pto shaft.

As others say, this does _not_ make your pto live, it only makes a tranny pto a bit safer.
