Making Paint Dull

Hello,

That would be removing the gloss from new paint. I have a Farmall A that I had restored 20 years ago. I used Van Sickle paint that has over time dulled out. I am in the process of rebuilding the engine and I know I will need to paint the block when I am done. How do you dull the new paint to match the existing paint? I know there will be some difference, I just don't want a shiny motor.

They make an addative paint "flattener".I
Just need the type for whatever type of paint being used.

single stage..? No harder?..in the old days single stage paint..we would use gas as a reducer...will make it nice and flat...in a out a month or so..looks like it 10 years older..

I'd clean and buff/wax the hoods etc and wait out the engine dulling on it's own, personally.
