Hi,
The tractor is a 1974/75 JD2130 from Canada.
I was bush hogging with the tractor. Our 3pt was working but the only mode that worked was "Draft" mode, (Full Up or Down).
I tried to move the mode selector so that I could use position control to keep the hog up a few inches off the ground for turning, as our old hog has no trailer wheels.
When I moved the control, The 3PT went FULL UP, and stayed there. It would no longer respond to the 3pt control lever. It held the hog up overnite, and then the next day had settled it to the ground.
Now Both the mode lever, and the control lever for the unit are non-responsive.
1. Any experts know what to look for when I disassemble the unit? (I plan on taking the top cover off the tractor to get at the 3pt internal linkage and control valves).
2. I have the shop manual, but any specific tips or tricks on working on this area of one of those tractors would be appreciated.
My dealer quoted about a $1000.00 for a shop visit, so am going to try this first myself if I can.
I think the German made JD2130 is equivalent to a US 2640? or 2840 ? Am I correct?
Thanks in advance for your help.
