putting new manifold on 2n wondering if you need any permatex sealant with gasket thanks ?

Roadteck,

I suggest you consider using Permatex Ultra Copper sealant. It has been recommended on this forum before by others. It worked very well for me when I replaced the gasket on my exhaust manifold.

new smooth machined manifold on a good block? I'd just use some thread prep n the studs.

les sthan perfect maiting surfaces. IE.. a lil pitting.. then the high termp stuff may be ok. if the block is terribly eroded.. you have a few choices.. soem work.. some work a lil.. some are pure bandaid fixes.
