manure spreader

What would be a good spreader for spreading cattle manure with straw mixed in. I'd like something that would pulverize real good. 100 to 150 bushel size with a PTO.

Thanks

I have a New Holland 185 with the optional upper beater that does a real good job pulverizing debris. The upper beater was a $700 add on that I bought later, made a big differnece. I have had the spreader for about 15 years and never had a problem with it and I spread lime, manure, compost, does great.

Is it the top beater that does the pulverizing. I ask cause alot of the PTO spreaders only seem to have one beater. I also saw one recently with a hood on the back, with what seemed to be small swinging beater fins.

the case ih 540 is excellent you could top dress hay after the first cutting i think and if it wereent for the rake picking some of it up it would not be in the hay.

If you want a new one, check out Pequea. I have a 175 with top beater and litter pan that I apply spent mushroom substrate (compost) and composted horse manure with and it shreds and spreads very evenly.

Just about any box spreader will have an upper beater option. New Idea made a few models of flail style box spreaders. They work well, but are quite old now.
