marvel schebler #21 carb floot

What dose a person do for the floot on a #21 carb . It has an after market one in it now and it has about 1/4 to 3/8 movement . I found a JD factory one but the guy said no deal ! This unit looks to be hollow so theres no shaving it to fit . I hate to spend $96.30 for another and get the same thing .
