I've just pulled the carb on my 88 today with the intent of a full strip, clean and rebuild with a full carb kit. I discovered the primary source of the running problems with my tractor.
The throttle shaft is worn oval and rattles around in the bushing. This thing's got a serious air leak and beyond a simple recon.
Are new throttle shafts for these carbs made? Can the housings be reamed and new bushings installed? Is this regular carb shop stuff or specialist?
Or do I just buy a new Zenith and save myself the hassle?
