Massey 1100

I am looking at a mf 1100 that is going to be auctioned off this weekend. Fair condition, dual hydro on it, 18.4-38 with 25% tread, cab, ruff paint, hours says 1800, put doesnt work. Ive heard they have lift problems? Havent heard run yet. Has had some one do some wiring on it. Has had a cab put on it. Looks like someone spray painted it. How much do yall thank it will bring and is there any thing I need to look out for? Can I make it 1000 pto instead of 540 if I get it? thanks Brad

Never had any lift problems with any that we had, seen them go from anywhere between 1,000.00 and 6,700.00 depending on the machine, it has a 550 pto and 1000, take the bolts off the 550 pto and take that off and bolt the 1000 right on there and you are good to go, pretty good tractor overall..

Is it like some tractors where you can take the 540 out and turn it around and there is a 1000 on the other side? Or would I have to buy the 1000 to go in the the tractor, as in a seperate pto? Thanks

I am pretty sure it has a flip pto that you reverse. They have twin hydraulic pump setup. The hydraulics were pretty sophisticated 30 years ago. Don't stall it on a hill, you have accumulator for 1 application of brake.

Good tractor iffin it is not wore out.

In my opinion one of the best 100hp tractors ever made. I own one. I've also owned/repaired/operated many other brands the same size. Can't beat the 1100 over all. As for lift problems the 3 point hitch can get stuck up, but it is a fairly easy fix as no parts are needed just an adjustment. You'll have to buy the 1000 rpm shaft to bolt on in place of the 540. They cost between $120 and $150 and are readily available. From what your describing I wouldn't pay much more then $4000. Also if you do buy it get an owners manual if it has the multipower shift, read and learn how it works before you operate the tractor.

Yes, there were a few, don't know the exact production numbers. I've never come across one, but my service manual shows them.

No at any price!! Neighbor has first year production one ,he's the second owner, but I've been around it sense it was new mostly just pulled a hay baler and 12' grain drill. the last ten years loader to feed about 30 cows round bales. Here where it gets bad every major componet has been replaced a least once.three of the repair bills amount to over half of new cost.the owners have bought the tractor a least three times and the tractor has less than 7000 hours. The first owner bought a 3020 powershift about the same its never cost much more than TBO.
If it were given to me I would haul off and never use it, I feed the owners cows when he's gone, I take my own tractor.
( MAYBE IT IS A LEMON)
