Massey 165 IPTO weak

Massey 165 Gas Perkins has MultiPower Ipto Dual aux Outlets (4 Lines) and 3pt. Multipower works high to low, hyds work and are strong Remotes might work but have nothing to use them on. Here is my problem Ipto will run and loose power after running for about 1/2 hour of use mowing seems to just stop and then will slowly start back up but with little strength. I was able to test the pressure at the side test port and it reads about 280lbs pressure will remain the same with m/p in high or low but the gauge will jump and return. I did find that the control for the constant pumping for the remotes was in the on position changed that to the neutral point don"t know if that would cause a problem or not. Rained to much can"t try it again. When the pto was drifting I looked at the dipstick, fluid was at the full point but it did have a very few small bubbles on the stick. Fluid looked good and clear, I also drained a small amount and checked it at the bottom it was just a slight bit less clean but not milky by any standard. I did find that there was one type of system that was a borg warner or some typepump system on some models that showed a pressue of 450 to 750lbs. but did not explain what to look for it identify. There are two lines that exit the front top left side of the bell housing goes to the front of the tractor through a cooler and a canister and the back. Does this have anything to do with the Ipto or is this trans and hyd. Thanks in advance. I hope I dont have to split the tractor. Any volunteers I live in Central Ohio

First of all you did a good job with the particulars. The lift has nothing to do with the IPTO or MP. The pressure is not far off if your gauge is correct. (do not take anything for granted) The bubbles concern me. I think you could have a loose suction tube, that would explain the pressure being ok. When the tractor has had a chance to get shaken up and oil gets sloshing around it could be sucking air and the more airated the oil get the worse it gets. after the oil has a chance to settle it sounds like it works ok. A good way to test the theory is to find some way to use the aux hyd. while the machine to moving. the suction screen is common. The aux pump and the IPTO pump are two pumps in one. A 3gpm and a 10 gpm. you could pull the lift cover. of preferably the right side cover to see for sure what is going on.

I am about 95% sure that you have a leak on the suction side of the mp/ipto pump.

Mine had a whinning noise coming from the mp valve in the bell housing and the multipower and independent pto pressure does just like yours.
problem was that the elbow that goes from the intake side of the pump to the pto shifter cover was loose in the cover. so I replaced the two o-rings and jb welded the elbow on the cover since it was broken and cannot find another cover.

My IT service manual states "240-350 psi for early models with IPTO and some with auxiliary hydraulic systems" also "400-750 psi for late models with Warner-Motive Dual pump, auxiliary hydraulic system, IPTO and/or Multipower.

My 150 with IPTO was working on and off and I found that someone left a Scott paper shop towel in the hydraulic sump. "That was me" If you pull the lift cover make sure you check the filters. Yours may have a filter in the canister that you described.

My filters were clogged with what was left of the paper towel.
