Massey Ferguson 135 model ID

I have what I have always thought is a 1969 MF-135, but I am confused about a couple things.

1. The serial number is 9A63154, but the serial decoder in this forum and another website show the starting serial number for a 1969 as 9A63158. Mine seems to be before the starting number in the range. Does this mean that mine is a 1968?

2. Any pictures of a 135 I see on the internet shows rounded fenders with headlights mounted forward by the grille. Mine has square shaped fenders with headlights mounted under the fender similar to a MF-150 of like vintage.

I am wondering why my 135 seemingly has fenders and lights that differ from most MF-135 pictures that I come across.

The engine number is Z145, and it is a Continental 4 cylinder gas engine and locking rear differential.

Your srial # is at the very tail end of 1968 production. Probably wasn't sold to original buyer until '69.

Flat-top fenders were an option on 135's. Not a lot of 'em, but they're around....

UK models had the headlights on the grill but not the UK models made for N. America. I don't think any UK models had gas engines either.

I have a '73 model, and like yours, has the flat top fenders. They were an option on the us models. I personaly like the flat top fenders than the others.

Hmmm. Thanks. Something is wrong with the clutch, and I'm gonna tear it down. Good little tractor, just getting old like the rest of us.

Hi, Official guide, (as mostly used by dealers in
the US)also shows it as a 1968. As the 135 produc
tion went into '69 the Cont 145 was replaced by a
Perkins gas 3 cyl. I prefer the Continental. The
fenders were avail either way/flat top optional
