i see an awfully nice MF 50 up for sale in my town and was wondering what the pro"s and cons of the 50 might be? i"m a Ford tractor guy but have always liked the Masseys.
also are parts obtainable for these 50s. thanks Ed

50 has the same power train as a 35 but different front end and sheet metal. Parts aren't a problem at all. Good tractors!

Got a 50 and a 35 gas, have the front end extended and the rears reversed and swapped, with a 6 ft. mower anything the front wheels clear the mower will and it seems to steer better than the 35. Both have live pto which helps going thru thick grass. The front axle on the 50 is way more sturdy.Great tractor.I wonder how much better the 65 is?

Seems the antique-y pedistal steering does help over the typical 2 link, but after my slow embarrassing start yesterday, the 65 is in the back of the class. And I never got into those multi power clutches, so I leave the 65's... where ever it is. My 50 is next on the operating room table. The only thing 'I really do not like' on these models is the extra long tube to the air filter. I might 'customize' this on the 40 and 50 - and 65! one of these days... and parts are as easy to find for these as Fords too, if not interchangeble huh?
