Can anyone help identify this MF tractor,all I can tell you is the serial # is 9A 48422 and there is a # on motor block Z1 A60 J6w. The guy I bought it from said it might be 78 model but wasn't sure. It's a 4 cylinder gas engine.i need to buy engine parts but I don't know size engine it is.Any help I can get will be greatly app. Thanks Willy

willy i did a little investion on this site under research & info i found that your serial# matches 1968 9A39836 to 9A63158 models MF 135 150 175 and 180 they must run the same motors gas and diesel with difernt options to make the model #

Trac I really appreciate your help, I went to that site 2 or 3 times but was to stupid to under stand the serial numbers . I am thinking about getting a over haul kit , I guess any of those kits for the 135,150 & 175 gas engine will work best I can tell what do you think? Thanks Alot Willy.

i would read as much as i could about 1968 models just to verify what model i have i didnt look under parts to see if they take the same piston i bet they will.the Z on theblock guessing means its a continental motor a very good engine

Looks like a 1968 to me. Z series Continentals were available in the 135 and 150; definitely not in the 175. Some numbers missing there after the Z1; should say Z134 for MF 135 special, Z145 for MF135 deluxe or MF150.

Mower thanks for info on my tractor.I think your wright on the MF 135 & 150. I've been looking for a manual but not certain which one to order. The manuals I've looked at has picture of tractor on front page ,none of them looks like my tractor. Anyhow thanks for the help mower & trac.

Since pictures of those models don"t look like yours, is there any way you can post a picture of yours so we can help identify it. It"s possible that yours is an industrial model. Go to the "Galleries" section on the left side of this page, click on "Tractor Photos," in the "search for" box type in the words: massey industrial

Mower I went to the tractors pictures and entered Massey industrial tractor like you said. It did post a tractor that looks like mine except was a 1965 mine is a 1968 but they look the same to me.They said the picture was a 1965 MF 202 industrial with / 200 series loader looks like the same loader I have. I have a 1968 M F tractor but can"t figure out what engine it has in it . I"ve looked on the block at the numbers there"s a Z 1 and looks like 135 but it is so light I can"t be for sure. Is there any other markings on the engine or any thing that tell me what engine it is. I had discussed this before on this forum and did get help on finding out what year mod it was,
But I"m trying to order parts for the engine and I get confused
When I look at the engine rebuild kits at this site, can any one help . The eng is gas 4 cyl. Thanks Willy
