massey harris 30 #6mower

got my mh 30 started, been long time, like 10 years taking it out... anyhow the semi mount mower on it, its the #6 massey harris model, question, the drive chain on it, how tight should it be, also is there a lubricant to use on the chain and drive shaft, i see a 3/8npt fitting on the shaft, wondering if on top of grease points, is there a call for a 90w fluid as well.

The drive chain on the #6 mower is supposed to be encased and bathed in oil. Sounds like you don't have the second half of the metal. A gasket between the two pieces prevents leakage.
