Massey Harris Water Pump

HI all. I have been looking for a water pump for my Massey Harris 22. I paid someone on ebay $150 for a rebuilt pump and it started leaking after three uses. I took it apart and found a homemade seal that was glued together. I finally found someone that can machine the impeller and pump to take a modern ceramic seal. www.fdrbp.com is the website. I don't know anything about your specific pump, but I do know that many water pump parts are generic. What parts can't you find for your's?

Some of the older pumps that rely on a stationary seal - sealing againts a flat machined surface on the rotating impeller can be easily fixed with NO machining. There are newer, self-contained seal assemblies that are self-sealing. You could run with NO impeller at all and there would be no leak (no a great idea, though).

I used to rebuild a lot of odd-ball pumps at a Deere dealerhips, and with most- I was able to just use parts from Deere or just order by size from generic sources. With some old pumps, the impellers are hard to get and pricey if available. So, we DID machine some to accept a rubber seal and ceramic wear sufface. But, also often used the one-piece self-sealing seal assemblies instead.

Local NAPA dealer sent mine off my 22 in and had it rebuilt! If I remember right it was around $40 plus shipping and took a couple weeks, that was about 1 yr ago and is still working fine!!
