Ric - Thanks for posting those photographs. Yes, it can be done. And yes, it should work out quite well for you. Safety is the keyword here.

For all of those out there who decide to sieze this method to renew the gasket between block & main case, be sure you realize that failure to stablize the two halves of the tractor PRIOR to separation could kill you or permanently cripple you for life. Chains and blocking, chocking the rear wheels, and using hefty dollies are all part of the process. And NEVER rely on a "come-along" for a hoist. Those ratchets have been known to fail to catch and down she goes! Gravity is a most powerful force. Think & plan! (PatB)
