mf 1080 won't pull itself

Dad has a 1080 with multi-power that he just got back from having the hydraulic pumps and brake discs replaced. Got it back today and thought I would move round bales with it for a couple of hours to test it out. After a few bales it quit pulling itself. The clutch "feels" good to my foot and the lift arms anf front end loader are working fine. I can shift gears with the moter running without using the clutch. Any ideas?

Likely the multi power went out- there was a thin spot in the hydraulic clutch pack for the multi power where the snap ring holds everything together- they break off in the groove, and then there is no more multi power. But then it would still seem that the low would work......

if the brakes have been done its likely they have been adjusted up to much and as the tractor starts to work they will heat up and expand and cause the tractor strain. this maybe the problem cheers

I would almost bet that the mechanic put the coupler between the transmission planetary and pinion shaft in backwards. The coupler can then slide off and stop letting your tractor drive.
