MF 135 Fuel Gauge Replacement Question

Hi All,

RE: my search for a replacement fuel gauge for my 1974 MF 135, about the only thing I can find on-line with a chrome ring (like the OEM) says that it's for a positive ground tractor. My question: Aren't all tractors circa mid 1950's and later negative ground? (I also own a 1950 Ford 8N that is positive ground). I don't understand why a positive ground fuel gauge would be listed as a replacement part for a tractor that was manufactured in the post positive ground era. Are models manufactured for other markets (like the UK) positive ground? Thanks for your time.

Hi Rob,
I've attached two pages from the Bepco UK catalogue. The gauges are quite close to the originals. As far as I know Bepco have outlets in the States.
If you can't get anywhere try
www.bepco-tracpieces.com that's the UK head office address. They should be able to put you in touch with someone nearer.

My MF-135 is negative ground. My JD-4020 gas from the same year (1968) was positive ground. Similar vintage JD diesels were mid battery ground but put the gas gauge on the positive grounded side.

You need another source for negative ground gauge and sender.

Thank you Gerald and David for taking the time to respond. Obviously, I was mis informed! (Not the first time). Thanks, Rob N

Hi James,

Could you please provide me with the ordering info or even just a website URL? I contacted BEPCO in the UK, but have not received a response. Did you order it through a US distributor? Thanks in advance for your assistance! Rob N in Washington State
