MF 135 hydraulics problem?

When tractor is shut off with hydraulic arms up, they ease down over the course of a few hours. That"s without an implement attached. My manual does not address this problem. What could be some likely causes? Also, could someone explain the locations of drain plugs and fill plugs for the hyd/diff/trans fluid? Thanks

It is normal for the lift arms to creep down when the tractor is shut off. They will creep faster with more weight on them but will still creep without anything on them. The filler for the trans, diff and tranny is the same. It is located beside the gear shift lever on the left side. Use MF perma-tran III for best performance. The drains are along the side of the trans case. I've never had to drain mine myself but I believe they are magnetic. Dave

Hello Jim,
The standard MF answer to your question is "why do you want the arms to stay up?" From a safety angle any implement should always be lowered to the ground. It will also cause less load on the starter if it does not have to try to pick up some heavy implement as well as starting the engine. The filler plug is situated next to the main gear lever.
You have two drain plugs. One is situated approximately under the PTO lever and the other is in the underside of the gearbox, both on the LH side. The gearbox plug retains a supply of oil to lubricate the gearbox in the event that the centre housing runs dry. Magnetic plugs are not normally fitted.
