Hello,I am a motorcycle mechanic by trade but i do not know much about tractors, my father in law has a MF135(perkins)it starts up and drives fine but the hydralics for the three point do not work at all. it has been sitting all winter without use but worked fine last fall. does anybody have an idea or suggestion.I am thinking it is something in the valve body(below seat)it seems it would be easy to pull the valve boby off.Hydralic fluid was just changed an a little water was in it but i have seen worse.any ideas? Thanks Nathan

The left lever under the seat has to be forward for the three point to work. Then the three point is controlled by the original position and draft levers on the right. Or those original levers have to be full up for constant pumping, then the three point position can be controlled in a conventional way by that left valve under the seat.

The original levers on the right of the seat control the three point by controlling the pump. So if they don't have the pump pumping nothing hydraulic works.

There is a manual available for that auxiliary valve and its link has been posted on this forum in the past three weeks, by me or by others. And its been discussed before on this link.

Do you have aux. hydraulics? If not, there wouldn't be a valve in front of the seat. The MF experts on here should be able to help you find out what's wrong. Make sure draft control is all the way back and clutch is out at least half way. Dave

It does not have aux hydralics,I was refering to the large valve body that the seat bolts too.I am now being told to remove the cover on the right side(where the controls and dipstick go in and check for lift cylyinder leak or problem with the linkage of check for free movemant of the2 small arms with rollers.

sir since your sure you do not have aux hydralics below the seat on top of the lift top is a small plate with two bolts in it . a stand pipe comes from the pump into the bottom of the plate. oil comes through this plate and is directed to the cylinder that operates the lift arms . i would remove the plate and see if you have oil flow there . i have seen the oring blow out on the pipe loosing the pressure . also make sure the arms are free they will rust stuck .good luck

sorry i have been away the o-rings are on the pipe itself . i would now remove the side plate on the right side leave oil in trans up to the bottom of the plate opening. look inside and make sure your control rod is contacting the roller in the valve acuating lever. if it is and you have no oil coming out the pipe your pump will have to be removed and be repaired.

I was able to take the cover off this weekend and found the acuating arm to be free and working. So I drained the fluid to get a good look at everything and found that the pin and rollers on the end of the shaft(going into the hyralic pump and hooks to the bottom of the acuating arm)had fallen off!I was able to get a magnet in the bottom of the trans and got the pin and rollers out.So basicly the acuating arm is moving but since it no longer is hooked to the pump it cannot engage it.My question is now will the pump have to be removed from the tractor to fix this?As i can only reach one hand in there i do not know of any other way of getting to it!Any ideas????Thanks
