I normally work on the old fords, 9N, 2N, 8N, NAA, but I had a chance to pick up a couple of MF tractors awhile ago and am slowly trying to get them running. One is a MF35 Utility and the other is a MF3165. They both have Continental gas engines. I am having a real problem with the MS carburetor on the 3165. I have got it to start and idle fine, but I have a real hesitation in getting it to rev up. If I take it up real slow I can get it up to top rpms. I have put two different set of points in, changed the condenser, checked the spark, confirmed the gas flow out the bottom of the carb., confirmed the proper timing, checked that the centrifugal advance is working, checked for air leakage around the manifold and carb flanges. I have had the carb. apart numerous times to confirm the passages are all clear and any ports or nozzles are clear. I am seriously thinking about replacing the carburetor with either a rebuilt one from this site or a new zenith one from this site. Any thoughts or suggestions. Sorry for being so long winded.
