I was mowing hay today with a sickle mower, stepped on the clutch and it made a heck of a racket in the clutch area. Shut it off quick but something definitely came apart. What happened? Did the clutch blow up?

Maybe the clutch, maybe the throwout bearing, maybe something else.

Was the tractor still moving and the PTO running when you shut it off? Did you push the clutch and have a normal pedal, or did it feel like nothing there?

Best to remove the inspection plate and look inside.

Thanks for the info. One of the clutch cover levers came
loose, pin must have fell out, and was flopping around in
there. Didnt seem to damage anything else. Was able to
screw the bolt out and remove the damaged arm so
tractor runs and drives now but the clutch doesnt
disengage. Looks like a split is in order this winter and as
long as its apart the 3 point shakes and drops
immediately after shutting the tractor off. Works
erratically and is just plain weak. Could you point me in
the right direction for what Im up against there? Thanks
again.

The fist thing I done.... purchase the MF SERVICE MANUAL......:)

A>Z procedure as per removal / installation of new CLUTCH.....
A>Z procedure as per removal / installation of HUDRAULIC PUMP...
PICS are of my MF 35.....SAME procedure and MOST parts are the same as MF 50...
Same service manual 50 / 35
Pics were taken for my reference..
