Talk to my massey dealer to day about transmission oil. And they told me that being my tractor has multi power they would change it over to permatran 111. It's better for the multi power in cold weather. an it's fine for every thing else. Has any one else done this?? Thank's

I asked this question of a Massey dealer friend a few years ago and he told me that he recommends Permatran III in all Massey Ferguson tractors for transmission-hydraulic-differential oil. I have used it to repace these earlier oils including the SAE 80-90 gear oil used in some of the early tractors and it actually performs better especially in cold weather.

I always use Permatran III

I will never take a chance to use someting else in tractors with Multi-Power and/or independant PTO.

The multi-power and IPTO uses a clutch type same as in car/truck automatic transmissions and need oil recommended by the manufacturer.

I don"t find th copy for now...MF issued a service bulletin which recommended to use permatran III in power steering too.

Perma-tran III is no longer available here but the latest designation Perma-Tran 821 XL is. That would be the oil to use. Dave
