MF 65 Pto clutch problems

I have a MF 65, which when purchesed, the PTO clutch slipped. Torn down the tractor and replaced the PTO clutch. Afterwards, it still slips, replacing the clutch did not change anything. Also having problems with 3 point and hydraulics not lifting very well. Any suggestions. Pto ground drive continues to operater without problems.

The pto clutch bellville spring is probably weak, needs replaced. MF 175,180 dual clutch pto spring is stronger and will fit. If tractor has high compression pistons, stock spring may not hold. Ground pto is driven by pinion shaft gear. Hydraulic trouble may be plugged inlet screen, or weak pump.

You've probably already done this, but to get the PTO clutch adjusted correctly your really need to get under there with a feeler gauge and make sure those three little adjusting bolts are have the same gap. Also, when you changed the pto clutch, did you mess with the main clutch at all? There is an adjustment spec to the clutch release lever that must be set with a new disk, even though you plan to re-use your old disk.

Hi,
It is essential that the adjusters around the outside of the clutch unit are set correctly. The target figure is 090". Its more important that they are the same. Ensure that you have the correct 3/8" freetravel. clearance at the release arm on the cross-shaft. This is at the point where the arm strikes the casing.

It is possible that the belleville spring has gone weak or may even be cracked. This would certainly account for reduced hydraulic performance.

What did the wear pattern on the old clutch look like? It's been a while since I did mine, but IIR the clutch pack came with a new Belleville spring.

as for hydro's that could be low lube level, worn pump or valve adjustment.

Go for the easy stuff first.

There are two different holes in the clutch linkage. One lowers the clutch pedal to keep the PTO engaged and the other raises the clutch to allow full dual stage clutch travel. Is this pin in the proper hole?

It was all I could think of...
