I feel some what silly for asking but I can not where to check
the rear end oil on my tractor. The book I have and the local
dealership both say there is a dipstick on right axle housing,
but still no luck finding it any where. Only thing I have found
related are the planetary fill plugs. I even called a friend over
to look thinking maybe I was just over looking it. Any
suggestions would greatly appreciated. Thank you.

From what I remember, the dipstick enters the differential housing on the right side through a round cover. The 3 point hitch response control linkage also goes through this cover. I remember the dipstick tube being at a right angle to the cover pointing to the left looking towards the front of the tractor, but I can't remember if the dipstick handle is outside or inside the cab. There is only one dipstick for the transmission, rear axle, and hydraulics, other than the level/fill plugs on each planetary.

I have a 1983 MF-690 with cab. The dip-stick for the trans is very small and short. You have to lean in from the rear and use a flashlight to find it. It pulls up and to the right slightly. Keep looking, you will find it. standing behind the tractor it will be on the right side. Tom

the hydraulic dip stick on my 690 is located on the right side under cab in front of rear axle and must be accessed from reaching in from rear or crawling under and reaching up, my owners manual shows late build having a long dipstick comming up to the rear between the remote outlets
