I use the 97 for tractor pulling as it is just too big to do any work on our small farm--and not PTO. I've pulled it a few times and always run out of power before I ever get any wheel slip. No black smoke either. I usually compete against a similar tractor (his is a couple of years older) and he pulls significantly better--with black smoke. I'm told I need to turn the pump up and that it is easy to do. Can anyone give me simple instructions? I have a pull coming up on fathers day. Nothing would make this father happier than BLACK SMOKE!

Is your tractor gas, diesel, or propane? Is his the same fuel?

Mine is a diesel--so is his....

Check the Moline board. Your 97 is an MM G705. They should be able to help more.

Does it have a Roosa master Pump?
