MF Heating Plugs

MF 135, MF 165, MF265. All of these have the heater plugs which are switched by main ignition key and have diesel dribbing into them. Some of the replacement plugs have a spade connector on them and some have a threaded screw type connector on them. The latter are about £7 cheaper at my local MF dealer. Does anyone know whether there is any difference in the specifications please?

Have to say that I have not copared the prices but when I order from Bepco UK I only get the plugs with the spade terminal. Its a significant amount and well worth changing the wire terminal. You will require a yellow insulated female crimp terminal. As to operation there is no difference in them. They may be cheaper from a diesel repairer or even somewhere like e-bay.

I think it depends on which model tractor you have. I have a 1958 MkI 65 with an AD 192. The new heat plugs had a different thread for the manifold, and the one I needed was unobtanium. Ended up having to build it up carefully with weld and turn a new thread on it to fit.
