MF50 correct sized disc

I have an MF50 out in Ellensburg Wa. Just curious if anyone can tell me what size disc I need to disc my acreage for grass seeding. Any reply greatly appreciated .. Chris

I built a 6' offset disk and its as much load to my MF-135 (same power as your MF50) as 2x 16 plow. That's enough. Mine is heavy and works good. Most three point disks are too light to do real work.

Gerald J., thank you for the reply. Did you mount it on a three point set-up, or just pull behind?

Had a '35', a '50' and later a '150', about 45 or 50 years ago; had a couple of 6 ft. 3-point hitch ones; don't remember the brand, but they were as heavy as anything we could find at the time and were a good 'match'.

Mine is pull behind. I started with an Oliver 212, 12 feet wide, four gangs, took all the gangs off the frame, ran a couple 4" wide flange beams front to back under the frame, and bolted two gangs back. Its HEAVY, and a bolted an old truck wheel on top that I collected rocks in.

Its heavy enough in plowed ground I had to put the wheels down to keep the front disk axle above ground. It does its job well.

That should handle an 8' quite well in most situations.
We've got an old mounted Massey disc like that. I forget the number but that's about the power class it's in.
