middle buster foot

I need a large middle buster foot to put on my 35 hp tractor for my truck patching. Ive got a smaller middle buster but its agravating for planting potatos. The reason I need a larger plow Is I make a large furrow then plant then fill the furrows with compost and then hill soil over this with my hillers. I m having trouble finding a supplier for one of these.

I saw one on a JD tool bar with a trip at the scrap yard but they wouldnt sell it. Also Ive heard this plow is called a lister sometimes.

Taylor,
one of these little potato plows would not make the furrow large enough, these little plows are sold at most small equipment stores.

I have this one and if the ground is loose and you go over the furrow twice you can make a fine ditch or trench.

Ferguson also made one of these furrow tools, but who would know where you could find one.

Go to Agrisupply.com, search keulivator. This is a frame, that you can put several attachments on. They also sell various sizes of middle buster shoes. Or you could make a dead furrow, with a small 3 point plow, by plowing each side away from the center.

Maxwell I have a middle buster like you have already. It works for a few things but jut wont make a wide enough furrow. THe JD plow I saw at the scrap yard looked like the Ferguson rig. but a little broader. I wished they would have sold it to me.

Last year I borrowed a wide MB like that fro ma man and made my furrows and then planted potatos and added some cotton gin lint and the rotted sawdust and compost mix for the hill. Had the best potato yeild ever in the loose soil.

You could probably get a normal middle buster sweet and got to a welding shop and have some steel made to weld onto it and make it wider.
