Help!

A friend of mine has a "u-series" moline. It's a 1953 model i believe. Can some one tell me what engine oil filter it uses. It had a Wix # but is obsolete with no replacement. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

There is two things you can do. There is adapeters selling on ebay to convert them so a spin on fiter will fit. If you like the canister type the only replacement element is a Fleet Guard part# LF543. I have some of these on order and was told that they are on order from the factory.

The adapters on ebay seem to be a good choice but don't look original. I've talked to people who have them and they are happy with them. The fellow listing them, doesn't get them relisted very fast after one sells, but they do appear again. I checked this morning, and didn't see any.
I'm making adapters for the R/Z tractors that don't use the plate between the filter and oil pump with a spin-on Chev filter and they look very original without the leaky hex bolt on the end. If I didn't have the adapter for the R/Z that I make, I'd most likely buy one off ebay.
Good Luck!! -Keep those Molines running!!

Mike,

Here are the cross reference numbers from WIX & NAPA filters to some other major manufactures of filters for the U:

Baldwin Filter # PT55 or T55M,
Fleetguard # LF543
Luber Finer # LP152
Purolator # T22
Fram # C152

I just received 4 fleetguard #LF543 filters from this location:
