I have the GTB with wheel brakes. The difference is a GTB has a four cylinder gas engine(403), the GBD has a six cylinder diesel (D425). They look similar, but the 6 cylinder is a little longer.

Hey ALBERT this tractor has the 425 6cylinder in it thir was a guy trying too tell me it was GTD I have never seen a GTD thanks for infor

Any chance its a made up tractor. First of GTBD was s/n 06800001 in 1953 (one only) - then 849 more made in 1954 - but I thought they all had brakes on transmission.

I know of at least 1 GBD rear end 09000204 with a gas engine 02003058. Owner had several of both and for some reason put this together - assume he had a bad trans / rear end on one and a bad engine on other - they appeared to bolt right up. Thought only the earlier GT & GTA had outboard brakes. My guess would be someone put a GTBD or GBD front end on a GTA transmission.

If you can get engine s/n you might be able to figure out where it came from - earliest D425 tractor engine was 06700001 1953.

It probally had the rearend replaced. They stopped using outboard brakes in 1950 or 51 and didnt build the 6 cylinder diesel till 52.
