MO mower

Does anybody have info on mounting this to 445 tractor? Can you get a complete sickle and a pitman stick? Would like to make it a working unit.

Granddady bought a 7 ft. MO with his ZB when he purchased it in 1954.

There are 2 ways to hook to a 445 (Row Crop-a utility may not have the same swinging drawbar quadrant).

#1 was an adapter that hooked to the lower 3-point arms and bolted to the pivot holes that are on each side of the front of the mower and 2 stabilizer bars from the lower pins that tie to the 3rd link mount under the seat. this rigidly mounts the mower to the tractor, allowing it to pivot at the lower 3 point pins.
The normal lift links from the rock shaft to the low 3 point arms are removed and a chain runs from the left arm on the rockshaft down under a pulley between the lower 3 point pins and back to the lift arm on the left side of the mower. this lifts the sickle.

I think there was also a kit to mount a remote cylinder on the left side of the mower and use a remote cylinder to lift the sickle. I have never seen one.

#2 uses 2 trapezoid shaped plates with bolt holes that mate a bar with clevises at each end that in turn mate to the pivot holes at each side of the front of the mower. The front side of the trapezoid plates bolt to the holes in the radius where the swinging drawbar support wheel swings. The lift for the sickle is similar to what I described above.

The sickle is the same as International Harvestor used for many years.
I actually spent the best part of 2 days riveting new ledger plates in each guard. (I had to modify them a bit to fit.)
You may want to check if an IH guard will work as well. Sometimes they use different bolts, check that as well.
I do know the 1/2 ledger plate in the outer end of the sickle bar is the same as an IH part as well.

The clamp that goes at the end of the pitman that clamps around the ball on the sickle and drags it back and forth is very much like the IH part, but the pin on it that keeps the sickle from falling out the bottom when you fold the sickle to the transport position is on the wrong side.
